Trade Alert: Exploiting the weaknesses in Japan
Japan is one of the most energy sensitive countries in the world and the BoJ is not (truly) willing to underpin the JPY. We aim at exploiting this in a RV trade in Asia.
After watching another hesitant BoJ meeting earlier, we aim at exploiting the weaknesses in the JPY via a relative carry trade in Asia.
Given the ongoing energy squeeze, which received new fuel from the Russian curb of Diesel / Gas Oil exports, we like a relative energy exposure with a positive carry.
