It seems like freight rates are finally reacting to continued supply chain distortions in the Red Sea and a steady demand just as we had warned in our shipping piece ‘No news is bad news’ from the 19th of April. This week’s numbers showed an increase for the 4th straight week and now the question again becomes whether or not elevated freight rates will sieve into goods inflation as they did during the pandemic.
