Something for your Espresso: Cracks starting to show?
Good morning from Europe
In sharp contrast to the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that are frequently reoccurring in European capitals these days, the political landscape on our home soil looks increasingly like one of division.
While Sanchez in Spain has managed to pull a questionable mandate supported by Catalan separatists, the Dutch seem to have installed a far-right government- or at least Geert Wilders has emerged victorious and has declared his intention to lead the new government.
How that majority is likely to pan out and what the political line we will likely witness is currently unclear but while the immediate impact on markets may be negligible, we note that populist parties are thriving in Europe in the lead-up for the coming Election for the EU Parliament
